Public Swimming - The Quay Zone


Make waves in our fantastic, modern pool which is light and airy with a full glass fronted end allowing great views out towards Girvan beach and Ailsa Craig.
Completely user friendly with access to poolpod developed for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games and used in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth games. It suits all ages and abilities to enter and exit the pool – allowing everyone to join in.

The Café Area runs along one side enabling spectators to watch all the fun and games without getting wet!

Now the technical bit
Our pool is 25 metres long and 4 lanes wide. The shallow end which is entered by sloping steps with a handrail immediately when exiting the changing village is 0.9metres deep and gradually deepens to a maximum of 1.8metres at the end nearest the windows facing out to sea.
A family style changing village with individual, family and disabled changing cubicles is located at the top end of the pool with hairdryers, hot showers, lockers etc.

Keeping you Safe!
Children under the age of two must be accompanied by a responsible person (16+) on a one to one basis.
Children aged between three and seven must be accompanied by a responsible person (16+) with a maximum of two children on a two to one basis.
Children aged eight and over do not need adult supervision but must be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool unaided to access the deep end of the pool if not they must remain in the shallow water.

Please note: During some of the public swimming sessions, the pool will be sectioned to allow public swimming in a designated area. Please check the Quay Zone website for full details.
