Ayr Action for Mental Health (AAMH)
Ayr Action for Mental Health is a charitable organisation established in 1987 to provide support to the people of South Ayrshire experiencing poor mental health.
Much of this support is provided from our base, Strathyre House - an activity hub and café designed to promote inclusion and independence.
In addition to the activity hub and café, we run various outreach programmes throughout South Ayrshire and work in partnership with external agencies with an aim of providing as much support as possible to as many people within South Ayrshire who could benefit from our input.
We work towards pressing for and providing facilities for those in South Ayrshire with mental health needs and improving public awareness of mental health problems.
Strathyre House is a social and recreational activity hub and café for adults experiencing poor mental health.
We are open 365 days per year and there is no formal referral system.
We welcome anyone to come along who meets all of the following criteria:
* Experience poor mental health
* Are aged between 18 and 65
* Reside in South Ayrshire
Support workers are always available to provide company, conversation and encouragement in a relaxed atmosphere.
In our café, we have an extensive healthy and reasonably priced menu and can cater for breakfast and lunch.
In addition to our Pool Room, TV Room and IT Room, Strathyre House offers a wide-ranging activity programme including:
* Creative Writing
* Arts and Crafts
* Guitar Lessons
* Cooking Lessons
